Bio
Dries Botha is a South African actor best known for his role as Malherbe in the SABC2 drama series Erfsondes, from 2009-2012.
He has also had cameo roles in the M-Net soapie Egoli: Place of Gold (2007) and the SABC2 soapie 7de Laan, in 2008, and played a priest in the 2003 feature film New Light, directed by Johan Myburgh.
Matriculating from Hoerskool Kroonstad in 1998 (where he studied acting), Dries went on to achieve a National Diploma in Acting from Technikon Pretoria, in 2003.
The majority of his acting work has been done in theatre, in productions including Hamlet Machine (2002), Beauty en die Bees (2003), Othello (2004), Aladdin (2008), Ligte Uit (which he also directed, in 2009), The Magic Drum (2010) and Eat Me, in 2011.
He has also appeared in numerous industrial theatre productions for clients including Mango Airlines, Disney, MTN, SAB, Cartoon Network and Pick 'n Pay.
Dries also acted in an Internet commercial for the video game Halo 3, playing an American marine.
