Bio
Leon Kruger was a South African actor and writer best known for his role as Brewis in the kykNET comedy-drama television series Geraldina die Tweede, in 2007.
Born in Vanderbijlpark, he grew up in Kibler Park in the southern suburbs of Johannesburg.
He attended Laerskool Dalmondeor and later Hoërskool President, Hoërskool Grens in East London and Hoërskool Tygerberg in the Cape.
He studied a Bachelor in Drama degree at the University of Stellenbosch but did not complete the course due to a back operation.
Leon later received radio training from the Cape Technicon and The London School of Radio.
He acted in numerous theate productions as well, including skeitBANG!, Die Tafel, Suurgat, Die Generaal, Om soos 'n lyk te le, Trolliekind and Kruger Kook - 'n Resep vir Moeilikheid.
Aside from his role in Geraldina die Tweede, other television series he acted in included Shooting Stars on e.tv, Divers Down on SABC1 and Transito, which also aired on kykNET.
He was the head writer on the second and third seasons of the kykNET drama series Die Byl and head writer on the SABC2 sitcom Kniediep in die Warm Water.
In addition, he created and wrote the kykNET mystery thriller SLOT, which revolves around a psychiatrist who develops a drug that penetrates the subconscious.
Leon died on 15 July, 2021.
