Sutton Foster is an American actress, singer and dancer best known for her work on the Broadway stage, for which she has received two Tony Awards - in 2002 for her role of Millie Dillmount in Thoroughly Modern Millie and in 2011 for her role of Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes.
She is best known to television viewers for her starring role as Michelle Simms in the comedy-drama series Bunheads, since 2012.
Foster was born in Georgia and raised in Michigan. Before starring in Bunheads, she appeared on Broadway in Grease!, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Annie and Les Miserables before her big break and Tony Award-winning performance in Thoroughly Modern Millie.
She has also originated roles in the Broadway productions of Little Women, The Drowsy Chaperone, Young Frankenstein and Shrek the Musical.
In 2011, Sutton starred in the revival of Anything Goes - a role that earned her the 2011 Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics, Astaire and Broadway.com's Audience Favorite Awards. She has also performed solo shows at numerous locations, including Carnegie Hall.
She was first seen on television on Star Search at age 15, and has also appeared in Johnny and the Sprites, Law and Order: SVU, Royal Pains and Flight of the Conchords.
