Elma Smit is a South African radio DJ and television presenter who rose to fame after winning SuperSport's 2011 Lady Rugga presenter search, which saw her hosting segments for the broadcaster during the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.
Starting out as a DJ on small radio stations like Radio KC in Paarl (2004) and MFM 92.6 in Stellenbosch (2005-2007), she became a music compiler for 5FM in 2008.
In 2010 she landed the weekend 04h00 - 07h00 DJ slot on 5FM, later getting her own show - El-ternative - which airs on Sunday nights.
Her first television presenting job was for the DStv Afrikaans music channel MK (2010), which saw her hosting the 2011 MK Awards.
After winning the Lady Rugga competition and presenting inserts for the 2011 Rugby World Cup she became a contributor to the rugby show Boots & All on SuperSport.
In 2012 she became one of the six presenters of the kykNET breakfast show Dagbreek, which began airing on 5 November, 2012.
