Bio
Lutho John is a South African actor, singer, dancer, voice-over artist, MC and television presenter best known for hosting the SABC1 shows Harambe (2010) and Spirit Sundae, since 2012.
Born and raised in Sydenham in Port Elizabeth, Lutho attended Sydenham Primary School and Alexander Road High School, matriculating in 2005.
He later attended the Tshwane University of Technology where he studied for an NDip: Musical Theatre (Singing, Acting, Dancing) and a BTech Degree in Musical Theatre (Acting and Directing).
John has performed in numerous musical theatre shows on stage at venues including the Joburg Civic Theatre, Montecasino, Lyric Theatre, Wits Theatre and the Breytenbach Theatre.
He has MCed roadshows across South Africa for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Coca-Cola and the Department of Education and was Master of Ceremonies for the launch of Beyonce Records.
A trained dancer in ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap and African dance, he has worked with numerous well-known South African performers including Bianca Le Grange, Fiona Ramsay, David Dennis, Amor Vittone and Tumisho Masha, among others.
Aside from an acting role n the SABC1 soapie Generations, Lutho first received widespread recognition for hosting the youth talk show Harambe on SABC1.
His second major hosting gig was for the SABC1 religious programme Spirit Sundae, from 2012. He also owns the entertainment company Lutho John Productions.
