Bio
Iliza Shlesinger is an American comedienne best known as the winner of the sixth season of the reality competition series Last Comic Standing (2008) and for hosting the syndicated dating show Excused, since 2011.
In 2008, a year after moving to Los Angeles to pursue standup, Shlesinger became the first female and youngest contestant to win Last Comic Standing, in the series' sixth season.
Since, she has added several television credits to her growing resume including her own half-hour special on Comedy Central Presents, Comedy Central's Live At Gotham, Showtime's Pauly Shore & Friends, E! Network's Chelsea Lately and The Soup, and NBC's Last Call With Carson Daly.
She also has her own album, Man Up And Act Like A Lady.
Growing up, making others laugh came naturally to Shlesinger, much to the chagrin of her strict Texan teachers. She joined her Dallas high school improve troupe - the only girl on the team - and was voted class clown.
At Emerson College, where she earned a degree in film, Iliza dropped improv for sketch and quickly fell in love with the format. After graduating in 2005, she moved to Los Angeles.
Shlesinger can regularly be seen practicing her craft at Los Angeles-area clubs, as well as headlining at a variety of colleges and clubs across the country. She has performed at the coveted Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, as well as for American servicemen across the globe.
