Bio
James Carpinello is an American actor best known for his starring role as Franco, an undercover Fed working to bring down the Chicago mob, in the medical crime drama television series The Mob Doctor, from 2012-2013.
Carpinello first came to prominence starring in the critically acclaimed off-Broadway comedy Stupid Kids. He went on to star in the Broadway production Saturday Night Fever.
Other Broadway credits include Xanadu and Tony Award-nominated hit Rock of Ages, in which he originated the role of Stacee Jaxx.
Carpinello's film credits include The Great Raid for Miramax and director John Dahl, and The Punisher, in which he starred opposite John Travolta and Thomas Jane. He can also be seen opposite Sean Penn and Ryan Gosling in the feature film Gangster Squad.
Carpinello also has worked extensively in television, including the critically acclaimed drama Felicity and the cable comedy So NoTORIous. He also did multi-episode arcs on The Good Wife, In Plain Sight, The Closer and Person of Interest.
Carpinello is a graduate of Carnegie Melon's prestigious B.F.A. acting program. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, actress Amy Acker, and their two children.
