James Thomas is a Canadian actor best known for his recurring role as Donnie Kowalski, a Chicago police officer and Abby Kowalski's oldest brother, in the police procedural television series Against the Wall, in 2011.
His film credits include House at the End of the Street with Jennifer Lawrence and Elizabeth Shue, Endless Bummer, Behind the Wall and Ice Men.
Thomas' television credits include roles in shows such as Covert Affairs, Queer as Folk, Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye and Lifetime Television's Missing. He also had a recurring role on the CBS series Swingtown.
Thomas has also appeared in a number of television movies including Change of Plans, Wedding for One, The Double Life of Eleanor Kendall, Mayday, Hollywood Wives: The New Generation, Fiona, Murder Among Friends, and Lifetime Movie Network's Flirting with Danger and Blind Injustice.
Prior to acting, Thomas owned and operated successful catering businesses, one of which served the Canadian film industry. He was discovered on a set and got his first acting break in 1998 in the award-winning short film The Final.
When not acting, Thomas donates time volunteering in shelters feeding the homeless and reading at children's hospitals.
Thomas has a passion for cooking, traveling, coffee and wine and especially loves the food and culture of Italy. He was born in Toronto, Canada and resides in both Toronto and Los Angeles.
