Beáte Opperman (née Olwagen) is a South African actress best known for her role as Rykie Rademan in the period drama feature film Roepman, which tells the story of a 1966 railway community.
She grew up in Johannesburg where she always had an interest in drama. She matriculated from Linden High School in 2003, regularly taking part in the Randburg and Roodepoort Eistedfodds.
She received her BA Drama degree at the University of Pretoria in 2006 and was seen in several stage productions, including the female lead in a university production at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown.
Other theatre credits include Skandaal 2, I Fell In Love with a Broken Heart, Vrou van die Tyd, Die Begrafnis and That Roaring 20's Show.
In 2007, Beáte joined the 5-Star Princess Cruise Lines as part of the entertainment team. She completed an entertainment program for the company in Los Angeles and worked for three years worldwide as presenter and entertainer organizer.
In 2010, Beáte returned to South Africa to continue her career. She was seen as Rykie in the popular Paul Eihlers film Roepman and played Martha in Verraiers, and also had a recurring role in the M-Net soapie Egoli.
In 2013 she had a starring role in the kykNET period drama Donkerland and was a presenter on SleepTV, also on kykNET.
In 2015 she had a starring role in the kykNET comedy series Buurtwag.
