Jean Louisa Kelly is an American actress and singer best known for her starring role as Kim Warner, a caring but neurotic stay-at-home mom who is prone to frenzy when she thinks her son Sam might be in any kind of trouble, on the television sitcom Yes, Dear, from 2000-2006.
She is also known for her portrayal of Rowena Morgan in the feature film Mr. Holland's Opus. Her other feature film credits include Uncle Buck, Landfall, Origin of the Species, Stranger in the Kingdom, The Fantasticks, Aspects of Love, Locked Away, 1000 to 1 and Zoe Gone.
Kelly's television credits include Cold Feet, a recurring role in Mad About You and guest appearances in Law & Order, Homicide: Life on the Street, Grey's Anatomy, Eli Stone, Gary Unmarried, The Glades, Burn Notice, CSI: Miami, CSI and Hero Factory.
Coming from a musical family (her father and siblings play instruments and her mother teaches piano), Kelly was destined to find her own musical talent. She began singing at a young age and studied ballet, tap and jazz dance. She first performed professionally at the age of 11 in the title role of Annie at the Theater by the Sea in Rhode Island.
Kelly was born in Worcester, Massachusetts and now lives in Los Angeles.
