Mpume Ngwenya is a South African actress best known for her starring role as Thandi, a spoilt rich brat who doesn't understand the value of money, in the SABC1 youth drama series Loxion Lyric.
In 2013 she guest starred as Tebogo in an episode of the e.tv anthology series eKasi: Our Stories entitled "Good Girls Gone Bad" (Season 5, Episode 46). The episode is about a naïve 18-year-old who decides to have a memorable eighteenth birthday celebration with her friends but has an interview with the Dean of one of the country's best universities for a scholarship the next day, which she cannot afford to miss.
Things go horribly wrong as she faces losing the scholarship when she finds herself stranded in an underdeveloped town with no means to get home or to the interview.
In 2015 she had a recurring role as Baby on the SABC1 Sitcom iThuba Lokugcina, which chronicles the misadventures of an odd group of underachieving misfits who come together to save their rather dim futures in a special life skills class organised by their well-meaning professor.
In June 2015 she began starring as Thandi Mtshali in the eKasi+ / e.tv sitcom B&B.
In 2016 she starred in an episode of eKasi: Our Stories entitled "Fak'imali Uzobona" (Season 6, Episode 13) about an emotionally unstable woman who discovers that her long term fiance has impregnated another woman.
