Bio
Phumello Nkosi is a South African actor and director best known for his starring role as Stapura, a musician addicted to dice and the iziKhothane lifestyle, in the SABC1 youth drama series Loxion Lyric.
Other television series he has acted in include Muvhango, Task Force, Ngempela and Generations.
Phumello has trained in acting at several institutions including Ayeye Productions, an Ekurhuleni arts and culture project focusing on performing arts in theatre, music and modelling; Utkarsh Actors' Workshop with Hollywood, Booywood and South African film directors; the Sibikwa Arts Academy; Words in Motion Actors' Workshop at the SABC taught by Duma Ndlovu, Sol Rachilo, Ton Kgoroge and Mzu Mzazi; and the FUBA School of Dramatic and Visual Arts.
Theatre productions he has acted in include The New Dawn (Joburg Theatre), Classroom Struggle, Master Harold and the Boys and Nothing but the Truth.
Films and shorts he has acted in include Fools and Their Gold, Kuruno, Impilo, Mashayshaya, Love at First Sight and Both Sides. He has also acted in commercials for clients including Carling Black Label, Oros and Nedbank.
Multilingual, Phumello speaks isiZulu, English, isiXhosa and seSotho. He curretnly resides in Daveyton.
