Bio
Shareena Clanton is an Australian actress best known for her starring role as Doreen Anderson, an Aboriginal woman from an inner city community wracked by drugs, alcohol and abuse, in the television drama series Wentworth.
Clanton received her first Australian Film Institute Award nomination for her performance in Redfern Now. She had her feature film debut in the Australian comedy Stone Bros in 2009.
After completing the Aboriginal Theatre course at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Shareena was accepted into WAAPA's full time acting course, which she graduated from in 2010.
Since graduating, she has appeared as a main cast member in the comedy series Ben Elton's Live from Planet Earth. She has also had her first main stage theatre experience in the production of My Wonderful Day at the Ensemble Theatre in Sydney.
Shareena completed a season of A Comedy of Errors in the role of Adrianna and The Tempest in the role of Ariel with Shakespeare WA theatre company. In 2011 Shareena was nominated for a Sydney Theatre Award for Best Newcomer.
Born in Perth, Sharenna resides in Melbourne.
