Bio
Ntokozo Mbambo is a South African recording Gospel artist who rose to fame at the age of 15 when she became the youngest member to join the Gospel group Joyous Celebration, followed by the successful release of her debut album, Bambelela.
Born in KwaZulu-Natal in the township of Umlazi, she married musician Nqubeko Mbatha in May 2008, and they are now based in Johannesburg.
In 2003 Ntokozo was invited to sing in St Louis, Missouri in the USA, performing songs from her debut album. On the home front, while promoting her album in South Africa, she was invited to be the opening act for Yolanda Adams and Cece Winans on their South African tours respectively.
In 2007 she recorded her live DVD/CD called Keep on Believing, which was produced by Nqubeko Mbatha, who then later became her husband. Keep on Believing earned a Metro FM nomination in the category Best Gospel album 2007 and three nominations at the 2008 Crown Gospel Music Awards.
In 2012 Ntokozo stepped out of the Joyous Celebration family and continued to pursue her solo career as a Gospel music artist. Working with and co-owning Koko Records, in February of that year, she recorded her second DVD/CD calling it Filled and attributing the title to the experience that the audience is guaranteed to have.
The CD and DVD were launched at the end of August 2012 and the album reached Gold status in February 2013. In 2014 she was a judge on the third season of the SABC2 Gospel reality competition I Want to Sing Gospel.
