Sindi Buthelezi was a South African actress best known for her role as Zinhle on the SABC1 soap opera Generations, joining the show in July 2013.
Sindi was born and brought up in the East Rand (Ekurhuleni) in a small town called Ratanda. As an earnest actress she spent most of her time at a local community hall performing drama to nurture and grow her acting skills while also using the opportunity as the best way to interest the audience.
Due to lack of funding she could not pursue drama at AFDA after matriculating at Khaya-Lesedi Secondary School. Instead she pursued studies at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) and today is in possession of a Public Relations qualification from UJ, with experience as a Public Relations Practitioner from a prominent PR firms.
After two years of practice in PR, she decided to leave the industry and pursue her true passion – acting, regardless of the risks attached.
As a result of her love for acting and hard work, Sindi had the opportunity to star in a short film called Babe Come Duze which was aired on Mzansi Magic, portraying a character named Sbongile. Babe Come Duze was her break through into the acting industry.
In 2014 she played Ntombi in the 12th season of the SABC1 HIV/AIDS drama Soul City and was one of the judges in the McDonald spelling BEE competition.
In 2016 she had a guest starring role as Patience Khumalo on the e.tv telenovela Ashes to Ashes.
Sindi died on 27 July, 2021. Her cause of death was not made public.
