Jesse Garcia is an American actor best known for his starring role as Carlos, a troubled gay teenager, in the award-winning feature film Quinceañera, written and directed by Wash Westmoreland and Richard Glatzer with executive producer Todd Haynes, which won both the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival in the Dramatic Independent Feature Competition.
Quinceañera was also selected to play at the Berlin Film Festival. Garcia won Best Actor at the 2007 ALMA Awards for his role as Carlos.
Born in Rawlins, Wyoming, Garcia returned to the Sundance Festival the next two years starring in 2007's La Misma Luna (The Same Moon) with Kate del Castillo and America Ferrera, as well as Good Dick with Jason Ritter.
He also appears in The Comebacks opposite David Koechner, Duane Allen Humeyestewa's Periphery and in Days of Wrath with Laurence Fishburne, Wilmer Valderrama, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Anna Claudia Talancon.
He earned his first producing credit as co-producer and star of Stephen Rollins' American Identity, which was selected to open the Short Film Competition at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival.
On the comedy side, Garcia has honed his skills performing in Sketchworks, Bob Harter, Della Cole and Jen Kelly's sketch comedy group, as well as in Latinologues, an award-winning collection of comedic and poignant monologues about the Latino experience in America, written, directed and produced for the stage by Rick Najera. Additionally, he has performed in Pee Wee's Big Adventure on Broadway.
Garcia has been featured in numerous national campaigns including those for McDonald's, Toyota, Avis, and Miller beer.
His television work also includes the Edward James Olmos movie Walkout for HBO, recurring roles in Sons of Anarchy, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, The Shield, as well as guest roles in such shows as Longmire, ER, The Closer, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Legit and CSI.
In 2012, Garcia had a cameo role in The Avengers. He also appears in Locker 13 to be released in 2014. Last year he starred in The Price We Pay, a short film selected for the 16th Los Angeles Latino International.
Garcia also stars as Freddie Gonzalez, a Texas Ranger on Seth and Richie's tail, looking to avenge the death of his mentor, father figure, and best friend, Earl McGraw who died by Richie's hand, in El Rey Network's horror series From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series.
