Bio
Muduna Kapumba (often credited as Maduna Kapumba) is a Zambian-born South African actress best known for her role as Shola on the SABC2 soapie Muvhango, from June to July 2015.
She was born and raised in Lusaka, Zambia by her Zambian father and Rwandese mother. She moved to South Africa with her father in 1993 and attended junior high at Bishop Bavin and Sedaven High School.
Muduna started acting from the age of five in Lusaka, when she first appeared in a television commercial with her brother. She took a back seat from acting until 2014, when a chance encounter with Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o from Kenya, inspired her to follow her passion and make her dreams a reality.
She quickly booked a guest role as a journalist on the e.tv soapie Rhythm City and appeared in a few commercials. Being proficient in various accents, when she heard of a new Nigerian character - Shola - coming to Muvhango, she knew she had to audition. She did so in front of series creator and executive producer Duma Ndlovu and won the role, by far her biggest to date.
In 2016 she landed another recurring role, this time on the SABC1 soapie Skeem Saam. She plays Tamirira Nyoni (Tami for short), a Zimbabwean who befriends her cellmate Lelo in prison.
