Bio
Gabriella Cirillo is a South African actress, dancer and casting director known for her roles in the soapies The Wild and Rhythm City.
She attended Dawnview High School in Germiston, matriculating in 1991. She went on study Drama & Performing Arts at Pretoria Technikon, graduating with a National Diploma in Drama and Performing Arts.
Gabi has gone on to appear in numerous television series, including the recurring role of Liezl on the first two seasons of the SABC3 drama series The Lab. She was also the casting director (with Moonyeen Lee) of the show and the duo won the award for Best Ensemble Cast in a TV Drama at the second annual South African Film and Television awards (SAFTAs), in 2007.
From 2002-2004 she played the role of Sabina on the M-Net soapie Egoli: Place of Gold. She also had a recurring role as Giovanna on both season of the M-Net Soapie The Wild.
In 2016 she landed the recurring role of Flavia on the e.tv soapie Rhythm City, making her first appearance on 21 September, 2016.
Other television series she has appeared in include The Adventures of Sinbad, Wild at Heart and Dream World. She has also acted in the TV movies Black Velvet Band and Platinum (also known as Der weisse Afrikaner).
Films Gabi has acted in include Merlin: The Return, Hey Boy, Straight Outta Benoni, Shotgun Garfunkel and Stimulation.
Gabriella founded G-casting in 2002, casting various commercials and TV series (including The Lab). She took a family sabbatical after 2007 but returned to the industry to perform in and co-choreograph a burlesque show entitled Boylesque. Thereafter she performed in and co-produced/directed another burlesque theatre production entitled Welcome to Burlesque.
In 2015 she co-founded The Casting Couch with her friend and business partner Petro Magos, bringing on board her original team from 2002.
Gabriella is also an MC and dancer, her passion being Latin American and Ballroom Dancing.
In 2017 she landed her first starring role in television as Marco's (Jonathan Taylor) vampish ex-wife Gigi Gianoppolous in the SABC3 comedy-drama series Bedford Wives.
