Bio
Lunga Radebe is a South African actor, singer, writer, dramaturg and slam poet best known for his recurring role as Warden Petros Molele in the SABC1 youth soap opera Skeem Saam.
He has an extensive resumé of work in theatre, having a Bachelor of Arts in Dramatic Arts (Honours) from Wits University in Johannesburg and a Master of Fine Arts in Dramaturgy from Columbia University in New York.
As a playwright his works include The Trumpeter, Lucid Inverval, Blues for Tsheleng and Avalon: A New Township Play, which played in New York and had a tour of the UK in 2014.
Lunga has also written for the television series Zone 14, Rhythm City and Skeem Saam.
As an actor, Lunga has been especially prolific in theatre, with numerous productions to his credit. These include Love, Crime and Johannesburg; I Need a Gun Mampatile; Armed Response; Much Ado About Nothing; The Dead Politician; The Seagull; and his own play, Avalon: A New Township Play.
Television series he has acted in include the soapies Backstage and Muvhango; and the dramas Zero Tolerance, Mtunzini.com and Izingane zoBaba.
In 2018 he landed his first starring role in television when he replaced Jet Novuka in the role of Mongezi Ndamase for the second season of the SABC1 drama series Ingozi.
