Bio
Bennie Fourie is a South African actor, director and writer best known to television audiences for his starring role as Phillip Coetzee, an idealistic but socially awkward young professor who is thrown in at the deep end when he is appointed as Head of the Philosophy department of a fictional university, in the kykNET comedy series Phil 101.
He also co-created, co-wrote, directed and acted in the kykNET comedy series Hotel, for which he and Stiaan Smith won the 2017 SAFTA award for Best Achievement in Scriptwriting - TV Comedy. The duo were also nominated in the category Best Achievement in Directing - TV Comedy.
Bennie was also a writer on the second season of the kykNET drama series Sterlopers.
In 2015 he appeared in the kykNET period drama series Bloedbroers and in 2017 he was a guest participant on the kykNET comedy game show Parlement Parlement.
Bennie also wrote and starred in the 2017 comedy feature film Vuil Wasgoed.
In late 2017 he began the recurring role of Dodgy Mike in his comedy series Hotel, returning for the third season in 2019.
