Bio
Ayanda MVP is a South African radio and television personality best known for hosting shows on Yfm and 947 FM.
Originally hailing from Nongoma, KwaZulu-Natal, she attended the National School of the Arts in Braamfontein.
In 2006, at the age of 16, she landed a job as presenter of the SABC3 teen reality show Vibe'z. Known at the time as Phindi Mdluli, she and her crew on the show chose young aspiring musicians, actors, artists, sports stars and models, and set them up with the right people to make their dreams become reality.
In 2011 she enrolled at the University of Pretoria, where she studied criminology and psychology. She also joined the varsity radio station, Tuks FM, hosting the breakfast drive.
In 2013 she was approached by Yfm to fill the graveyard slot. She dropped out of university to join the station and gave birth to her stage name, Ayanda MVP. She was soon asked to fill in daytime slots and eventually landed her own daytime show, on weekends from 12-3pm.
In April 2017 she left Yfm to join 947 FM and by July that year had taken over Stacey Norman's slot, on weekdays from 10am - 1pm. This slot was extended to 3pm from January 2018.
In 2016 she was a guest commentator on the Vuzu Amp countdown show 10 Over 10 and in the same year was the voice over for the sixth MTV Africa Music Awards.
In 2018, Ayanda was the celebrity prankster in an episode of the SABC3 hidden camera prank show Eish! Saan, featuring in Season 1, Episode 6 (which aired on 16 March, 2018).
Later in the year she replaced Thando Thabethe as the host of the SABC1 reality competition series 1's and 2's, for the show's fifth season, which premiered on 30 September, 2018.
