Zodwa Nkosi is a South African actress and director best known for her recurring role as Zamo on the Mzansi Magic teen drama series Is'thunzi.
She began her acting career in 1994 working at the Victory Sonqoba Theatre Company. Her first acting role was in a stage adaptation of the Alan Paton novel Cry, the Beloved Country.
Zodwa matriculated from Alexandra High School in 2000, where she did drama; and she later studied drama at the Wits Arts School.
Although working primarily in theatre and musical theatre, she has appeared in a number of television series as well, including a cameo as a policewoman in the SABC3 comedy-drama series Sober Companion. Her guest appearance was in Season 1, Episode 6, which aired on 8 August, 2016.
A month later she featured in an episode of Generations: The Legacy but a bigger break came in the form of her role as Zamo on the Mzansi Magic teen drama Is'thunzi. First appearing in Season 1, Episode 5 (which aired on 7 November, 2016) she returned to play the role in Season 2 the following year.
Zodwa landed another recurring role on an Mzansi Magic drama not long after, playing Blessing on the third season of Saints and Sinners. Her first appearance was in Season 3, Episode 4 (which aired on 29 January, 2017).
Later in 2017 she landed a third recurring role, this time as Bongiwe in the Mzansi Magic telenovela Ring of Lies. She debuted in the role in Season 2, Episode 45, which aired on 16 October, 2017.
The following year she landed her first starring role in television when she was cast as Phindi Molefe in the Mzansi Magic drama series Housekeepers, which premiered on 1Magic on Saturday 6 October, 2018 (followed by a run on Mzansi Magic which premiered two days later).
