Bio
Lauren Jenae is a South African actress best known for her starring role as Vicky in the Mzansi Magic prison drama series Lockdown.
She rose to prominence as one of the finalists on the first season of the talent search series Top Actor Africa, in 2015.
Prior to appearing on Top Actor, Lauren studied journalism at Rhodes University; going on to graduate from AFDA with an Honours Degree in Live Performance and Broadcast Journalism.
In 2014 she was a presenter on Hashtag 7, a social media-driven magazine TV show which covered the latest music, entertainment and travel news.
Her breakout year was 2015. Aside from participating in Top Actor, she was a presenter on Entertainment Files, presenting local celebrity news; and a presenter for MovieBuzz, a TV show focused on giving viewers the ultimate insight into local and international films.
She also co-founded a production company called Wanderlust, which specialises in filming and producing content for travel brands, from interactive social media and corporate videos, to virtual reality and blogging content.
Also in 2015, Lauren was cast in a cameo role on the second season of the SABC1 drama series Tempy Pushas. The following year she played the role of Mary on the e.tv soapie Rhythm City.
In 2017 she was cast as inmate Vicky in the Mzansi Magic prison drama Lockdown.
In 2018 she had a recurring role as Tracy in the Mzansi Magic soapie Isibaya, making her first appearance in Season 6, Episode 203 (which aired on 19 December, 2018).
