Maria Valente De Almeida is a South African actress and model best known for her starring role as Samantha Abrahams in the kykNET & kie soapie Arendsvlei. She matriculated from Hottentots Holland High School in Somerset West in 2011 and went on to study Acting for Stage and Media at the University of Stellenbosch, graduating in 2014. In 2018 she got her big break when she was cast in the kykNET & kie soapie Arendsvlei in the starring role of Samantha Abrahams, Beatrice (Jolene Martin) and David's (Oscar Petersen) daughter who is the out-going head girl of Arendsvlei and the source of all her mother's sleepless nights. In 2019 she voiced the roles of Hulya and Ayse in the Turkish telenovela The Stranger, which was dubbed into Afrikaans and named Die Vreemdeling.
