Maxx Moticoe is a South African actor and guitarist best known for his starring role as Ayanda Nkosi in the SABC3 telenovela The Estate.
Hailing from Westonaria in Gauteng, he matriculated from Randfontein High School in 2012 and went on to complete a BA in Performing Arts from AFDA in 2016.
His first television role was a cameo in an episode of the SABC1 soapie Generations: The Legacy which aired on 7 February, 2017.
The following year was his breakout year, beginning with the recurring role of Melusi in the e.tv soapie Rhythm City, making his first appearance in the role on 6 March, 2018.
He followed this up with the recurring role of Mothusi Moche on the SABC3 police procedural series The Docket, appearing in all 13 episodes from 22 August, 2018.
Maxx rounded out the year with another recurring role, this time as TJ in the 1Magic soapie The River, first appearing in Season 1, Episode 183, which aired on 10 October, 2018.
In 2019 he landed yet another major recurring role - as Felix in the fourth season of the Mzansi Magic prison drama Lockdown, making his first appearance in the Season 4 premiere on 6 April, 2019.
He next landed his first starring role in television when he was cast as Ayanda in the SABC3 telenovela The Estate, which revolves around a gated suburban community which begins to feel less secure when a neighbouring township launches a land claim against the estate.
The series premiered on 5 April, 2021.
