Bio
Gershwin Mias is a South African actor best known for his role as Zane Meintjies in the kykNET & kie soapie Arendsvlei.
He matriculated from Eersterivier Secondary High School in 2010 and furthered his studies at Stellenbosch University the following year, graduating with a B.Dram in 2013.
He has appeared in a number of feature films including Herb & Moon, Noem My Skollie, Krotoa, Ellen: Die storie van Ellen Pakkies and Die Invloed.
Gershwin made his television acting debut in the recurring role of Wikus in the M-Net thriller miniseries Trackers, first appearing in the series premiere on 27 October, 2019.
He next landed the recurring role of Zane in Arendsvlei, making his first appearance in Season 2, Episode 50, which aired on kykNET & kie on 21 January, 2020.
He followed this up with a guest starring role in an episode of the kykNET police procedural crime series Projek Dina, in an episode which aired on 4 February, 2020 (Season 1, Episode 4).
Another guest role followed, this time in an episode of the SABC2 comedy-drama series The Riviera which aired on 13 May, 2020 (Season 1, Episode 6).
The following year Gershwin landed his first starring role in television when he was cast as Prof, an unenthusiastic baggage handler, in the kykNET mockumentary comedy series G.I.L, which revolves around the new boss and incompetent staff of a small airport in the middle of nowhere.
The series premiered on 5 April, 2021.
In the same year he had another guest starring role in a kykNET drama - the role of Sunshine in an episode of Die Byl, which aired on 15 June (Season 3, Episode 8).
The following year he was cast in the recurring role of Jared in the kykNET soapie Binnelanders, making his first appearance in Season 17, Episode 156 (which aired on 10 January, 2022).
In 2023 Gershwin was cast in a second starring role, this time in the kykNET sitcom Magda Louw. In the show he plays cameraman Shaun, who follows the Louw family around whilst making a documentary about them.
The series premiered on 2 January, 2023.
