Buntu Petse is a South African actress best known for her role as Nontle on the SABC1 soapie Generations: The Legacy.
Hailing from Soweto, she moved to Johannesburg in 2020.
She graduated with an Honours Degree in Dramatic Arts at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2019.
Buntu made her television debut as a presenter of the SABC1 science and technology show Teenagers on a Mission.
In 2019 she landed her first acting role on television when she was cast as Nontle Majola on Generations: The Legacy.
In the show her character is the daughter of Ayanda (Samela Tyelbooi) - a rebel who sees herself as a feminist, attending rallies, refusing to bow down to the way society wants her to be.
She made her debut on the show on 2 December, 2019.
Buntu landed her first starring role in television when she was cast as the lead character, Mbali Hadebe, in the Netflix comedy-drama series Miseducation, about a wannabe influencer who enrolls in a small-town university, where she aspires to regain her social status.
The series debuted worldwide on 15 September, 2023.
