Bio
Nhlanhla Kunene is a South African actor best known for his role as bad boy Eric in the Showmax drama series Adulting.
After dropping out of Wits University he studied physical theatre movement, Kofifi and writing at the Duma Ndlovu Actors Academy.
He made his television acting debut in a minor role in the SABC2 soapie Muvhango, in 2019.
He next played a policeman in an episode of the Netflix South Africa thriller miniseries Justice Served, which landed on the streaming platform on 29 July, 2022.
Later that year Nhlanhla landed his first starring role in television when he was cast as Jabu in the Mzansi Magic comedy-drama series Lavish, which premiered on 4 November, 2022.
The following year was his breakout year, which began with the starring role of Eric, one of the four protagonists, in Adulting, which aired on Showmax from March to May, 2023.
He also played the recurring role of Ndumiso in the sixth and final season of the 1Magic soapie The River, making his first appearance in Season 6, Episode 35, which aired on 24 March, 2023.
Later that year came another starring role, this time in the BET biopic drama series Nkalakatha: The Life of Mandoza, which aired over six episode from August to September.
The following year he was cast in the starring role of Jacob Nkonzo in the Mzansi Magic soccer drama series Obstruction, which premiered on 18 March, 2024.
Nhlanhla followed this up with yet another starring role, this time as chilled guy Thabang in the BET telenovela Queendom, which premiered on 22 April, 2024.
