Heidi Klum is a German supermodel, actress, TV presenter, fashion designer, television producer and singer. She is also the hostess of Project Runway and Germany's Next Topmodel, and is known for her modeling work with Victoria's Secret.
Having established herself as a top model, making great impact for such clients as Victoria’s Secret and on the covers of pop-culture mainstays like the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, Heidi’s career has taken many new directions.
Heidi’s numerous other ventures include self-designed collections for prestigious companies like fine jeweler Mouawad and popular shoe line Birkenstock.
She is the host and executive producer of Bravo’s Emmy nominated series Project Runway, called “the Prada of reality shows” by The New York Times.
Heidi also has a lifestyle book, Body of Knowledge: 8 Rules of Model Behavior, released in 2004 through Crown Publishing.
Other ventures include best-selling European clothing, accessories, fragrance and beauty lines, and a candy line through Katjes (Europe) and Hillside Candy (US), available internationally.
Her charity involvements include work on behalf of such organizations as the American Red Cross (as part of its ‘Celebrity Cabinet’) and the Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

Heidi made her acting debut appearing as Michael J. Fox’s love interest in the ABC sitcom Spin City and has appeared in Miramax films Blow Dry and Ella Enchanted.
She has also appeared in guest roles on HBO movie The Life and Death of Peter Sellers in a cameo as Ursula Andress; and on Sex and the City, CSI:Miami, Malcolm in the Middle and The Larry Sanders Show¸ among others.
She has hosted MTV’s Fashionably Loud Europe and Model Mission shows as well as the Laureus World Sport Awards; and has hosted various specials for CBS, TNT, VH-1 and MTV.
She has hosted and literally swum with sharks for an episode for Discovery Channel’s ‘Shark Week,’ and has worked with Discovery Networks on her own series of travel specials.
She appears as villainess scientist Katya Nadanova in the best-selling James Bond 007 videogame, Everything or Nothing.
Heidi's modeling career began in her hometown of Bergisch Gladbach, Germany when she and a friend cut a modeling contest coupon out of Petra magazine and mailed in a vacation snapshot of Heidi.
She had no idea how far it would go, but Heidi eventually won the contest. From this win, Heidi was signed with an agency and her modeling career officially began.
Heidi has since worked with such top photographers as Sante D’Orazio, Patrick Demarchelier, Gilles Bensimmon, Rankin, Matthew Ralston, Arthur Elgort, Walter Chin, Robert Erdmann, Marco Glaviano, Michael Thompson, Raymond Meier, Richard Burbridge, Mark Seliger, Wayne Mazur, Peter Lindbergh and Steven Meisel.
Heidi has been featured on the covers and spreads of every top fashion magazine, including Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, ID, W, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Mademoiselle, Allure, Esquire, GQ, British GQ (for which she was named ‘Woman of the Year’ twice in a row, normally reserved for men) French & British & German Vogue, German Elle, Self, Fitness, Dutch, New Woman and Grazia magazines.
In addition, Heidi has appeared in campaigns for H&M, Nike, American Express, Target, Liz Claiborne, Siemens, Givenchy, Finesse, Braun (for which her legs were insured for over $2 million), Caress, Lancaster, INC, Nine West and the prestigious Pirelli calendar, among others.
Heidi is also well-known for her work with Victoria’s Secret — one of her first big ‘breaks’ as a model was to walk in Victoria’s Secret's widely-watched runway show; since then, she has completed many campaigns for Victoria’s Secret, being featured prominently in the company’s world-famous catalogues and fashion shows.
Heidi was chosen to wear the $10-million jeweled Millennium Bra, as well as the jeweled Fantasy Bra in 2001 and 2003; and she has been featured on the cover of the Victoria’s Secret Swim Book.
On downtimes at shoots, Heidi also cultivates her creative talents — sketching ideas for her jewelry and shoe lines, as well as crafting unique home products and embroidered clothing and accessories.
She is one of the hosts of the 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards in 2008, having been nominated with her co-hosts in the category Outstanding Host for a Reality Show or Reality Competition.
