Melanie Lynskey is a New Zealand actress best known for her starring role in Peter Jackson's Oscar-nominated movie Heavenly Creatures (1994), for which she received the New Zealand Film and Television Award for Best Actress.
In television, she is best known for her leading role as Charlie's neighbour Rose in the sitcom Two and a Half Men, from 2003-2011.
She has amassed a number of feature film credits including Ever After, Coyote Ugly, Sweet Home Alabama, But I'm a Cheerleader, Shattered Glass, Cherry Orchard and Snakeskin, which garnered Lynskey her second New Zealand Film and Television Award for Best Actress.
Lynskey's other television credits include the Steven King mini-series Rose Red and a guest star appearance on The Shield. She can also be seen in the mini-series Comanche Moon and in the pilot Drive.
