Linda Hunt is an American actress and voice artist best known for her Academy Award-winning role in 1983's The Year of Living Dangerously.
She won the Oscar as Best Supporting Actress for her role as the male Chinese-Australian dwarf Billy Kwan in the film The Year of Living Dangerously in 1982. This made her the first actor to ever win an Oscar for playing a character of the opposite gender.
Hunt has narrated a number of television shows, including The Living Edens, Before We Ruled The Earth, Auschwitz: The Nazis and the 'Final Solution', The American Experience, Nightmare Classics, and California and the American Dream.
She also voiced the recurring role of Management in the series Carnivàle, and the role of Gaia in the video games God Of War and God Of War II.
Hunt is probably best known to television audiences for her recurring role as Judge Zoey Hiller in 24 episodes of The Practice.
Aside from her Oscar-winning role in The Year Of Living Dangerously, Hunt has appeared in numerous other films including Popeye (1980), Dune (1984), Silverado (1985), Kindergarten Cop (1990), If Looks Could Kill (1991), Prêt-à-Porter (1994), The Relic (1997), Eat Your Heart Out (2000), Yours, Mine and Ours (2005) and Stranger Than Fiction (2006).
She currently stars as Henrietta 'Hetty' Lange on the police procedural television series NCIS: Los Angeles, since 2009.
