Bio
Benjamin Whitrow is an English actor best known for his role as Mr. Bennet in the 1995 television mini-series Pride and Prejudice, for which he was nominated for a BAFTA award.
Whitrow has been in a range of TV and film dramas, including TV adaptations of Shakespeare's plays Quadrophenia, The Pallisers and A Man for All Seasons, starring John Gielgud and Charlton Heston.
Other credits include Boon, Chancer, Rumpole of the Bailey and Crossroads, and he provided a voice for the animated film, Chicken Run.
Benjamin's also a regular stage performer with such prestigious companies as the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre. He's appeared in such classics as Twelfth Night, Loot, Uncle Vanya, School for Scandal and What The Butler Saw among many others.
He has a son, Angus, by actress Celia Imrie.
