Scott Speedman is an English-born Canadian actor best known for his starring role as Ben Covington in the coming-of-age drama television series Felicity and as Lycan–Vampire hybrid Michael Corvin in the gothic horror–action Underworld films.
He also had a starring role as Sam Kendal, XO of the Colorado and Marcus's second in command who is more pragmatist than philosopher, in the action thriller television series Last Resort, from 2012-2013.
Speedman was seen in Sony's The Vow starring opposite Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum for director Michael Sucsy. Other blockbuster films include director Len Wiseman's Underworld and Underworld: Evolution, with Kate Beckinsale, and the terrifying The Strangers with Liv Tyler.
He also acted in Barefoot, opposite Evan Rachel Wood for director Andrew Fleming.
Additional films include Barney's Version, opposite Paul Giamatti and Dustin Hoffman; Adoration for director Atom Egoyan; Citizen Gangster, as infamous bank robber Edwin Boyd; The Moth Diaries for director Mary Harron; and Good Neighbors, opposite Jay Baruchel for director Jacob Tierney.
Speedman also featured in Anamorph with Willem Dafoe, the stoner comedy Weirdsville, Dark Blue, opposite Kurt Russell; My Life Without Me, with Sarah Polley, for which Speedman won Best Actor at the Bordeaux International Film Festival; The 24th Day, opposite James Marsden; Duets, co-starring Gwyneth Paltrow; Lee Tamahori's xXx: State of the Union and Gary Burns' Kitchen Party.
Speedman studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York before landing the role of Ben Covington in the popular TV drama series Felicity, which had a successful four-season run.
He made his stage debut in the Edward Albee play The Zoo Story at the Equity Theatre in Toronto.
