Sarah Michelle Gellar an American actress best known for her starring role as Buffy Summers in the fantasy drama television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, from 1997-2003.
She also stars as beautiful twin sisters Bridget Kelly and Siobhan Martin in the mystery drama thriller series Ringer; and as Sydney Roberts in The Crazy Ones.
Gellar started her career on the daytime drama All My Children, and received a Daytime Emmy Award for her role. She went on to star in numerous hit films, such as I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream 2, Cruel Intentions, Scooby-Doo and The Grudge.
Gellar has lent her voice to numerous animated projects, including Robot Chicken, The Simpsons, American Dad, Happily N'Ever After and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
A New York native, Gellar is an advocate for many charities. She is an ambassador for the nonprofit organization CARE, which helps raise awareness about the plight of young girls in developing countries. With her work for CARE, Gellar has traveled to Guatemala, Tanzania and Zanzibar, Africa.
She has also worked as an advocate for Breast Cancer awareness and the Education for ALL Act. Additionally, Gellar has devoted her time to Make-a-Wish Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Planned Parenthood, Los Angeles Free Clinic, Project Angel Food and the Starbright Foundation.
Gellar resides in Los Angeles with her husband, Freddie Prinze, Jr., and their two children.
