Freddy Rodriguez is an American actor known for his role as Hector Federico "Rico" Diaz, the artful and ambitious mortician, on the television drama series Six Feet Under; and as El Wray in Robert Rodriguez's film Planet Terror.
Rodriguez garnered an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actor, two Screen Actors Guild Awards (Best Ensemble Drama) and numerous Alma, Nosotros and Imagen awards for his role on Six Feet Under.
He also has a starring role as Michael Ragosa, an unflinching bureaucrat determined to cut costs who is also hiding a health secret that has kept him from becoming a doctor, in the medical drama television series The Night Shift.
He was also seen in the feature film CBGB, about the infamous 1970s New York City nightclub and in the John Stockwell-directed drama Code Name: Geronimo about the hunt for Osama bin Laden. He also appears in the independent film Soldiers of Fortune.
Rodriguez starred on the series Chaos, a comedic drama about a group of rogue CIA spies. Other television appearances include recurring roles on Ugly Betty, as Betty's love interest, Giovanni; and Scrubs, where he played Judy Reyes' brother.
Rodriguez was executive producer and star of the feature Nothing Like the Holidays and also starred in the Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez horror-action flick Grindhouse, for which he received the ShoWest 2007 Supporting Actor of the Year.
Other notable film credits include Harsh Times, Bobby, Lady in the Water, Poseidon, Dreamer, A Walk in the Clouds, Dead Presidents, Payback and the telefilm For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story.
Rodriguez also has a prolific voice-over career and can currently be heard on the animated series Kaijudo and Generator Rex. He has also voiced roles on American Dad, Teen Titans and Young Justice.
