Eva Tamargo is an American actress best known for her role as Pilar Lopez-Fitzgerald, the matriarch of the Lopez-Fitzgerald family who was born in Mexico but moved to Harmony in her twenties as the wife of Martin Fitzgerald, whom she had married when she was 18, on the television soap opera Passions.
She received nominations for ALMA Awards in 2002 and again in 2008 for the role of Pilar.
She also has a starring role as Celine Gonzales, another maid in the Cryer home who grows increasingly unscrupulous, jealous and antagonistic, torturing and tormenting Hanna, in the primetime soap opera The Haves and the Have Nots.
Eva is able to move seamlessly from English-language characters to Spanish-speaking roles, having become popular in the international Latino community for her work on the daytime Spanish telenovela El Magnate and her contract roles on El Fantasma de Elena, Más Sabe el Diablo and Marielena.
Eva had a major guest-star role on NCIS. She was Helen on the series Saints & Sinners, appeared on Fox's Fortune Hunter and had a recurring role on ABC's Moon Over Miami.
Eva can be seen in the classic Oliver Stone film Any Given Sunday, in Sydney Pollack's Random Hearts and in the Spanish-language film El Silencio de Neto.
Her theatre credits include Don Juan, Rake of Seville, Yerma, Kennedy's Children, No Exit and The Shadow Box. She has also performed onstage with the Repertorio Español in New York City.
Eva was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Cuban journalist Agustín Tamargo and Rosalba Nápoles. She studied acting in New York at HB Studio under the guidance of Sam Waterston, William Hickey and Uta Hagen.
Eva was married to Michael Lemus from 1985 to 2003 and has a son, Matthew, and a daughter, Gabriella. She enjoys horseback riding, volleyball, skiing, skating and tennis.
