Cameron Mathison is a Canadian actor best known for his role as Ryan Lavery on the soap opera All My Children, which he played from 1998-2002, and currently since 2003.
He also hosts the reality show I Wanna Be a Soap Star, as he has since its 2004 debut on SoapNet.
Mathison joined the cast of All My Children in January 1989 as Ryan Lavery. After leaving the show for over a year, he returned in 2003.
Born and raised in Canada, Mathison attended McGill University in Montreal and graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree.
He was also captain of the Red Men Basketball team (tied Terrell Owens in the celebrity slam-dunk competition at the NBA All Star weekend).
Mathison made his feature film debut in the 1998 Miramax release, 54, as well as the Canadian independent film, Washed Up.
His television credits include The Drew Cary Show, CSI, JAG, What I Like About You, F/X - The Series, Any Mother's Son, with Bonnie Bedelia and See Jane Date.
He hosted ABC's live world premiere of Walt Disney's animated feature, Tarzan, Soap Nets 2001 daytime Emmy red carpet special, and E! Wild On! specials.
He also guest starred on Hope & Faith.
In 1999, Mathison received the Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Male Newcomer and a daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2002.
He lives in New York with his wife, son Lucas and daughter Leila.
