Michael E. Knight is an American actor best known for his role as Tad Martin on the soap opera All My Children. His first stint on the show ran from 1982-1986. He returned from 1988-1990 and again from 1992-present.
Knight also appeared as Ted Orsini on AMC in 1993.
Knight was honoured with two Daytime Emmy Awards for 'Outstanding Younger Leading Actor' (1986 and 1987). In 2001, he was honoured with his third Daytime Emmy Award.
He also received the 1997 Soap Opera Digest Award for 'Best Supporting Actor' and a nomination in the same category in 1998.
Knight had a recurring role on One Life To Live, from 2003-2005, and has guest starred on Matlock, Dear John, Grapevine, Murder, She Wrote, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
He has also acted in the made-for-TV movies The Royal Romance of Charles and Diana (his screen debut in 1982, in which he played Prince Edward), She Stood Alone: The Tailhook Scandal (1995) and A Different Kind of Christmas (1996).
He has appeared in the feature films Baby It's You (1983), Date with an Angel (1987), Hexed (1993), Montana (1998), Ash Tuesday (2003), Undermind (2003), Noise (2004), Rounding First (2005) and Mango Tango (2007).
He was married to One Life to Live star Catherine Hickland from June 27, 1992. In January 2006, the couple announced that they are getting a divorce after 14 years of marriage.
