George Wyner is an American actor best known for his role as Assistant District Attorney Irwin Bernstein on the television drama series Hill Street Blues, from 1982-1987.
He also played the role of Richard, the jovial yet practical best friend to Alan (George Segal), in the sitcom Retired at 35, from 2011-2012.
Born in Boston, Wyner earned a drama major at Syracuse University in 1968 and garnered his first film and TV work in 1972 (including The Odd Couple).
His signature role was as assistant D.A. Irwin Bernstein in Hill Street Blues, but he has appeared in nine regular TV roles and nearly 100 guest spots - in fact, he's known as "Hey, It's That Guy" on Fametracker, which called him "a go-to geek in Hollywood for over three decades."
The bespectacled and bald Wyner is also well known for playing Col. Sanderz in Mel Brooks' legendary Spaceballs, and appeared in both Fletch films.
Wyner has also appeared in episodes of House, Days of Our Lives, The Mentalist and Desparate Housewives. He is married with two children.
