Joy Lauren is an American actress best known for her role as Danielle Van De Kamp on the comedy-drama television Desperate Housewives, from 2004-2012.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, Lauren attended The Galloway School in Atlanta for elementary school and graduated from high school at age 14.
She has made guest apppearances on The Division, Lizzie McGuire, Still Standing, The Closer and Shark, and had a small role in the 2003 feature film Rogues, her only movie role to date.
In 2007 she was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild award in the category Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series for Desperate Housewives.
She has been nominated twice for Young Artist awards: in 2001 she received a nomination for Best Performance in a TV Drama Series - Guest Starring Young Actress, for her role as Mary Ellen Smith in two episodes of The Division, which was her first screen acting role.
Her second Young Artist nomination came in 2006 for her role in Desperate Housewives, in the category Best Performance in a TV Series (Comedy) - Supporting Young Actress.
She is good friends with actress Tara Ansley.
