Melody Thomas Scott is an American actress best known for her role as Nicole 'Nikki' Reed Newman in the daytime soap opera The Young And The Restless, appearing on the show since 1979.
She has made guest appearances on Ironside, The Waltons, Charlie's Angels, Makin' It, The Rockford Files, Hotel, and My Name Is Earl. She also hosted the 1991 series The Image Workshop.
Her first film credit was in the 1964 Alfred Hitchcock movie Marnie. After bit parts in movies the mid-'70s (most notably in John Wayne's final film The Shootist in 1976), she was offered bit parts on nighttime series such as The Waltons, The Rockford Files, and Charlie's Angels.
In 1979, she was offered the part of stripper Nikki Reed on The Young And The Restless. Over time, her character reformed and became an important part of Genoa City society, as she married Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
She has been married to one of the producers of the show, Edward J. Scott, since October 1985. The couple, who have three daughters, renewed their vows in an elaborate ceremony that coupled as their twentieth wedding anniversary in June 2005.
