Katee Sackhoff is an American actress best known for her starring role as Captain Kara "Starbuck" Thrace on the reimagined science fiction television series Battlestar Galactica.
In 2004 she was nominated for a Saturn Award in the "Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series" category for her work in the Battlestar Galactica mini-series. In May 2006, she won the Saturn Award for the same role.
In 2001 Sackhoff starred opposite Richard Dreyfuss and Marcia Gay Harden in the CBS series The Education of Max Bickford.
On the big screen, she appeared opposite Jamie Lee Curtis in Dimension Films’ Halloween 8: Resurrection. She was also featured in the feature films My First Mister, The Glass House, White Noise 2: The Light and The Last Sentinel.
Sackhoff was born and raised in and around Portland, Oregon. Upon graduating from high school in Portland, Oregon, she moved to Los Angeles, where she landed the lead role in the MTV pilot Locust Valley.
She was a waitress at the Saddle Ranch Chop House before she got her big break.
She went on to star in the Fox Family Channel series The Fearing Mind. Sackhoff’s other television credits include a recurring role on MTV’s Undressed, guest spots on ER; Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane, Cold Case and Chicken Soup for the Soul.
She also had a supporting role in the USA Network film Hefner: Unauthorized.
Sackhoff played the recurring role of Sarah Corvus in the remake of the classic seventies action series The Bionic Woman, in 2007.
She also has a starring role as Victoria "Vic" Moretti, the newest addition to the sheriff's office in Absaroka County, Wyoming, in the crime drama television series Longmire, based on the mystery novels by Craig Johnson.
Her Battlestar Galactica co-star Tricia Helfer is one of her best friends. She decided to quit smoking when she received fan mail from little girls saying they wanted to be like 'Starbuck' when they grew up.
