Bio
Gary D'Alessandro is a South African actor and entrepreneur who appeared in numerous television series from 1994-2011, including Africa PI, Suburban Bliss, Soul City, Egoli, Generations, Zero Tolerance, Gaz'lam, Isidingo, Binnelanders and 7de Laan.
After matriculating from John Orr Technical High School in 1981, Gary attended the University of the Witwatersrand from 1985-1988, achieving a BA Dramatic Art (Honours).
He joined the Loft Theatre Company at the former Performing Arts Council NAPAC in 1988 and performed in numerous stage plays there for two years, including The Kiss of the Spiderwoman, The Three Musketeers, Macbeth, Moll Flanders, Somewhere on the Border and Fantastical History of a Useless Man.
He became a freelance actor in 1991, appearing mainly in theatre. Productions he acted in include Shadowlands, Sum of Us, Beau Jest, Scenes from an Execution, The Choice and The Last Witch.
Gary also acted in several television commercials for clients including Tastic Rice, Heineken, Advil CS, Romany Creams, Danone Nutriday and PVR for DStv.
In 2002 he founded promotional and display solutions company Vivo Visual Voice, which caters to the branding requirements of companies on a one-to-one basis. He quit fulltime acting in 2011 to focus on his business.
Gary currently resides in Johannesburg.
