Chris Rock is the Emmy Award-winning executive producer, co-creator and narrator of UPN's comedy Everybody Hates Chris. He is an accomplished film and television actor, comedian, writer, producer, talk show host and director.
Rock has re-defined standup comedy with his smart and incisive takes on race, relationships and society. He's won three Emmy Awards and garnered 15 nominations, has earned two Grammy Awards and has been nominated and won a multitude of other awards throughout his career.
In the feature film world, Rock starred in such films as The Longest Yard, Head of State, which was also his directorial debut, Bad Company, Down to Earth, Nurse Betty, Dogma, Lethal Weapon 4, New Jack City, CB4 and Beverly Hills Cop II.
Rock has also lent his voice to the animated features Madagascar and Osmosis Jones, as well as to the feature film Doctor Dolittle.
Rock has been the star of four HBO comedy specials, most recently Never Scared.His others, Bigger & Blacker, Big Ass Jokes and Bring the Pain, have garnered him multiple Grammy and Emmy Awards and a CableACE Award.
Rock was born in South Carolina and raised in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, and drew inspiration from events in his life growing up there for his new series.
Honing his comedic skills from early on in the comedy club circuit, he realized a long-held dream when he joined the cast of Saturday Night Live for a three-year tenure beginning in 1989.
Rock currently lives in New York with his wife Malaak and their two daughters.
