Bio
Eddie Cibrian is an American actor best known for his television roles as leading man Cole Deschanel in Sunset Beach, as Griff Walker in Baywatch Nights, as womanising New York City firefighter Jimmy Doherty in Third Watch, and as Everglades park ranger Russell Varon in Invasion.
Born and raised in Sylmar, California, Cibrian began acting at the age of 12 and was cast in a Coca-Cola commercial after his first audition.
He went on to appear in various commercials before going to high school. Once there he put his acting career on hold to focus on his other passion - sport. He competed in football, baseball, soccer and volleyball and graduated high school with several All-State honours.
He continued his successful athletic career when he entered UCLA's football program in 1991. An injury during his first year left him sidelined and with extra time on his hands so he decided to return to acting.
Cibrian got cast in several national commercials and starred in the Emmy Award-winning television special Kids Killing Kids.
His appearance on the special led to several soap opera auditions, including one for The Young and the Restless. The show's producers felt Cibrian was too old to play the character he read for, but they created another character for him, the conniving Matt Clark and within three months the network signed him to a 3-year contract.
Cibrian went on to guest star in several television shows, including The Bold and the Beautiful, Beverly Hills 90210, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch and Saved by the Bell: The College Years.
He was a series regular on Baywatch Nights and soon thereafter Aaron Spelling offered him the starring role of Cole Deschanel on the daytime drama Sunset Beach.
Cibrian also starred in the telefilm Logan's War: Bound by Honor (1998) and the mini-series In the Beginning (2000) , with Martin Landau and Jacqueline Bisset.
In 1999 he was cast as firefighter Jimmy Doherty in the TV series Third Watch which ran for five seasons and in 2005 he played Eddie Towne in the series Tilt.
Feature films credits include Living Out Loud (1998), opposite Holly Hunter; Say It Isn't So (2001), with Heather Graham and Chris Klein, But I'm a Cheerleader (1999) and The Cave (2005) - a sci-fi horror.
Cibrian is married and has a son. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, football, tennis and basketball, and he is involved with the Make-a-Wish Foundation and several other charities.
