Bio
Dineo Ranaka is a South African radio DJ, television presenter, MC, businesswoman and reality TV star best known to TV audiences for hosting the music shows Noted (SABC3) and Club 808 (e.tv), and the first season of the SABC1 celebrity gossip show The Real Goboza.
On radio, Dineo was a DJ for Yfm where she co-hosted the show Chilli and Dineo between 15h00 and 18h00 daily. She quit the station in March 2012.
She received radio training from 5fm legend Barney Simon and was a stand-in jock for the station. She also appeared on the Fanta World Chart Show with Brown Suga.
She was producer and co-host of The Essential Rush with Chilli M on Yfm, the 6-9am Saturday and Sunday Weekend Breakfast on Yfm and later the 3-6pm Monday to Friday Afternoon Drive time show Dineo Live On Drive Yfm.
She was the lead in a musical theatre production called Sexy and The City and has guest starred on a number of television series including cameo roles in Gaz'lam, Generations, Stokvel, Home Affairs, A Place Called Home, Erfsondes and Yizo Yizo. She also played herself in a recurring role on the e.tv soapie Scandal!, in late 2011.
She was the host of the SABC3 entertainment magazine show Noted (2006) and co-presented (with Trevor Noah) the first season of the SABC1 gossip show The Real Goboza, in 2007.
She was also a field presenter for Big Brother Africa and hosted the Sunlight Game Show on SABC1.
In 2012 she starred in and executive produced her own docu-reality series, Dineo's Diary: The Making of a Mogul, which folows her as she balances motherhood, family and her career while taking viewers through the highs and lows of her life as she pursues her dream of becoming a mogul.
In 2013 she joined the Mzansi Magic magazine programme All Access Mzansi for its ninth season as a co-host, along with ProVerb and Nandi Mngoma.
Born at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in 1983 and raised in Soweto, she is the sister of actress Manaka Ranaka.
