Bio
Jack Davenport is an English actor best known for his television roles as Miles Stewart in This Life (1996-1997) and as Lloyd Simcoe in FlashForward, from 2009-2010.
He also had a leading role in the series Coupling, playing the role of Steve Taylor in 28 episodes from 2000-2004.
He also starred as Derek Wills, one of Broadway's most brilliant director-choreographers - and one of its most seductive bad boys - in the musical drama television series Smash, from 2012-2013.
Davenport has had roles in a number of successful movies, including Fierce Creatures (1997), The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999), Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003) and its sequel, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006).
He will reprise his role as Admiral James Norrington in the third 'Pirates' movies, Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End, scheduled for release in May 2007.
Davenport originally wanted to work behind the camera on film sets, and his mother advised him to send a letter to John Cleese asking to work on his upcoming film Fierce Creatures, in 1997.
Cleese passed the letter on to the casting department instead, who offered Davenport a small role as Student Zoo Keeper in the movie.
Based on that part Davenport landed an agent, who got him the role that set his career in motion: Miles Stewart on This Life.
