Bio
Dan Bakkedahl is an American improvisor, actor and teacher best known for being a correspondent for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, from 2005-2007.
He is also known for his starring role as Steve Nugent in the comedy series Legit.
Bakkedahl guest starred in the HBO comedy series, Veep, alongside Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Other television work includes 30 Rock, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The United States of Tara, the recurring role of Murray the A/C Repairman in Season 3 of Community and numerous commercials for T-Mobile and other major companies.
He has also portrayed supporting roles in hit films, including Observe and Report and Horrible Bosses.
An accomplished comedic actor and writer, Bakkedahl has toured and performed regularly with numerous comedic companies throughout his career. After college, he toured for a year with the Repertory Theater of America.
He established himself in the comedic world through his work with Improv Olympic, performing in the influential two-man improv show ZUMPF. He went on to be a regular at the Second City main stage and wrote Doors Open on the Right, Second City's 90th Revue.
Bakkedahl continues to perform regularly at comedy venues such as the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, Magnet Theater, Second City and Improv Comedy Lab in Los Angeles.
Born in Rochester, Minnesota and raised in Florida, he attended St. Cloud State University in Minnesota before completing his studies at Florida State University. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
