Cotter Smith is an American actor best known for his recurring roles in the television series Tru Calling (2004-2005) and Night Stalker (2005-2006).
He has made guest appearances on numerous television shows, including St. Elsewhere (his screen debut in 1982), Hill Street Blues, Cagney & Lacey, Moonlighting, L.A. Law, Chicago Hope, Courthouse, Law & Order, Oz, Alias, Judging Amy, Commander In Chief, NCIS, Invasion and Without A Trace.

Smith currently lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with his wife Heidi Mueller-Smith and stepchildren Brianne, Chris and Evan Mueller. Together they own and run the Cornerstone Theatre Company which resides in the Brumder Mansion.
