Bio
Sanele Gumede was a contestant on the inaugural season of Survivor South Africa: Panama.
He suffered an injury to his arm early in the competition and by Episode 5 (aired 1 October 2006) producers of the show decided he had to be removed from the game in order to have his arm attended to.
He was thus the 5th person to leave the game, and the first not to be voted out. In a twist to the game Sanele was allowed to pass his torch on to a member of the opposing tribe, Danielle, which saved her from being voted out that week.
Sanele is a brand manager who grew up in Durban but now lives close to work, in Sandton, Johannesburg.
